Guided collaboration and computers: Some of its effects on learning outcome

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of different treatments on learning outcome, into a collaborative learning context. It was used a factorial design, consisting of two factors, each one with two categories. The first factor was to give students specific roles to play to guide the kinds of interactions and activities that students engage in, versus to allow students to make their own decisions about when and how to use the teacher instructions. The second one was to develop a simple hypertext, versus to write an extended essay. [EN]: This study analyzes the development of Spanish-Brazilian collaborative scientific production in the field of medical research between 2002 and 2011, identifying the most productive institutions, the proportion of researchers from each country and bi-lateral collaborative networks. Data were gathered from the Scopus database, which offers broad, international coverage of multidisciplinary research. [EN]: [Objective]: The objectives of this paper are to analyze the Spanish scientific production in nursing, define its temporal evolution, its geographical and institutional distribution, and observe the interinstitutional collaboration. [Method]: We analyze a comprehensive sample of Spanish scientific production in the nursing area extracted from the multidisciplinary database SciVerse Scopus. [Results]: The nursing scientific production grows along time. The collaboration rate is 3.7 authors per paper and 61% of the authors only publish one paper. Digital Storytelling Project as a Way to Engage Students in Twenty-First Century Skills Learning

[EN] This paper is focused on the implications of a collaborative digital storytelling project on student engagement in the higher education context. The empirical study is conducted with an interdisciplinary group of bachelor students in a Nordic University (N = 22) and a university in Southern Europe (N = 21), and the data are collected through an online student survey. The results demonstrate that the digital storytelling project supported students’ behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement. El objetivo de este trabajo es indagar la relación existente entre la ansiedad competitiva de futbolistas y tenistas en etapas de formación y la práctica de deporte por parte de los progenitores. Participaron en este estudio 246 niños deportistas de tenis y fútbol con una media de edad de 10,43 años (DT= 2,42), que han sido evaluados con un cuestionario de datos sociodemográficos y el cuestionario de Ansiedad Competitiva SAS-2 (Ramis, Torregrosa, Viladrich, & Cruz, 2010). El objetivo del artículo es presentar una experiencia educativa de colaboración para crear una comunidad de aprendizaje compuesta de los estudiantes y la profesora. Esta comunidad se formó en un curso de comunicación oral de nivel avanzado de español en la Duke University al trabajar de forma cooperativa en la creación de contenido y al participar los estudiantes en ciertas decisiones sobre la evaluación de una tarea.
